About MI Streamnet
line
MIstreamnet delivers streaming video to educators in Michigan, and increasingly, across the country.  The project was initiated as a means to provide live and on-demand video resources to educators and the public: professional development programming, curriculum content, and coverage of other educationally related government events such as State Board Meetings.  The Fiscal Agent for the project is Wayne RESA.

Financial Statement
REMC MIstreamnet is a project funded by the non-profit REMC Association of Michigan.   REMC MIstreamnet is free to content viewers.

Revenue
The REMC Association contributed $60,000 to the project.  There were user fees (from organizations generating content) which contributed an additional $8,300.

Expenses
In the 2006-2007 year of the project, the project had expenses of $84,304 for staff time, hardware, software, Internet service and server co-location charges. The difference, $16,004 in expenses, was borne by Wayne RESA.

todo before a live event
Since Live events occur at a specific time, viewers should test their connection a few days before the event by selecting 'Live Video Stream' from the left navigation area. There is usually a test stream from Annenberg CPB, and if you can view this test stream, you will be able to view the Live event. If you have trouble, see the 'Tech Support' section.
